FAQs
When is Mousey Browne open?
1
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
How far in advance can I book?
2
The appointment book generally opens 3–4 weeks out from the current date. Can’t find a spot in that window? You’ve got options: keep an eye out for cancellations, check back in a week as new spaces open up regularly, or jump on the waitlist and I’ll come find you.
Where are you located?
3
At Desmond & Molly Jones, 2/28 Bellevue Street, Surry Hills.
Should I drive or catch public transport?
4
There’s on-street paid parking in the surrounding streets — sometimes a bit of a hunt, but not impossible to find if you’re patient (or lucky). If public transport’s more your speed, hop off the tram or train at Central, head out the Elizabeth St exit, and it’s a short, easy 5 minute walk up Foveaux St.
How do I pay?
5
Payment is made online through the booking system, so have your card handy when you book — no awkward EFTPOS fumbling at the end.
How should I prepare my hair for my appointment?
6
Come with clean, dry hair, worn out and styled how you’d normally like to wear it. No hats, headbands or helmets beforehand. Leave-in conditioner or moisturiser is totally fine. Hard gels or sticky products, though — leave them at home. I need to see your hair in its true, natural state to give you the best cut possible.
Do you offer Deva cuts or strand-by-strand cutting?
7
Mousey Browne is not Deva cut trained, so I don’t offer strand-by-strand cutting. My approach is all about embracing your natural texture, your frizz, and your beautiful big hair — not fighting it into submission.
What products do you use and recommend?
8
I use and recommend LOHY., Hairstory and Wuli. Please head to the product page for more information and links to buy.
How often do I need to get my hair cut?
9
I recommend 4 times a year, or once a season. As the seasons change, so does your wardrobe, your vibe, and how you want to wear your hair.
Who is a dry haircut for?
10
Anyone who wants to wear their natural hair with a tailored shape to suit your vibe and your lifestyle, without using tons of product or heat styling.
Does my hair need to be curly for you to cut it dry?
11
Absolutely not — I cut all hair textures, lengths, and genders.
Will I be photographed or filmed during my haircut, and will my images be shared on social media?
12
Possibly — only if you give consent. Your hair, your call.

“If a haircut has been designed around a person’s face shape, their hair texture and lifestyle… it will not only look great, but wear well and grow out beautifully over time.”
